Chief of Police
Justin D. Brown
The Franklinton Police Department is led by Chief Justin Brown who was appointed in February 2019. Chief Brown began his career in law enforcement in 1994 with the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office. He joined the Franklinton Police Department in 2006 where he served as an investigator, instructor, grant writer and administrator. Chief Brown attended Southeastern Louisiana University and the Community College of the Air Force where he obtained a degree in Criminal Justice. His decorated military career with the Louisiana Air National Guard spanned 17 years as a member of the 159th Security Forces Squadron. After being called to active duty and being deployed after the terrorist attack on 9/11, he returned home to continue his law enforcement career. Chief Brown holds a multitude of law enforcement certifications and is only one of a few P.O.S.T. Firearms Instructors in the State of Louisiana to serve as Chief.
